Wine Description
La Casetta is Domini Veneti's reading of the Valpolicella that Veronese families keep on the table, a red from Corvina with Rondinella and other local varieties, as is traditional for the zone. The style leans on fruit and drinkability rather than weight: morello cherry, red plum and a violet note, gentle spice, fresh acidity and supple tannins that keep it light on its feet.
A few years from harvest, the 2019 has settled into an easy, rounded stage and is ready whenever you are. It suits the first half of a Veronese or Venetian meal: bigoli in salsa, sarde in saor, salumi and young mountain cheeses, or a simple risotto, and it takes well to grilled white meats too. Poured by the glass it is the safest all rounder on a mixed table. Serve it a touch cool, around 16 °C; no decanting needed, no ceremony expected.
Winery
Domini Veneti is the premium label of Cantina Valpolicella Negrar, a growers' cooperative founded in 1933 in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica. The cellar holds a special place in Amarone history: in 1936 a cask of Recioto that fermented fully dry produced an early example of the style that later carried the region's name around the world. Launched in 1989, the Domini Veneti line draws on members' best plots around Negrar and the Classica hills, with site selections such as Or'Jago and Pruviniano alongside classic Amarone, Ripasso and Valpolicella.
