Soave Classico DOC 2025
Wine Description
Gini is a family-owned estate based in Monteforte d’Alpone, one of the two communes at the core of the Soave Classico zone in the Veneto region of northeast Italy. The estate has cultivated vines in this area since the sixteenth century and farms approximately 25 hectares of hillside vineyards. The Soave Classico DOC is produced from 100% Garganega grapes, hand-harvested from old vines aged 70 years and over, grown in volcanic basalt soils. Extremely low yields are maintained across the vineyards, and minimal intervention is practiced both in the vineyard and the cellar. The volcanic origin of the soils contributes a distinctive mineral quality to the wine that runs alongside the natural acidity of the Garganega variety. This wine represents the entry-level expression in the Gini range and is intended for relatively early drinking, though it carries enough structure to develop further in bottle over a few years.
