“Incrocio Manzoni” Montello Asolo DOC 2025
Wine Description
Serafini and Vidotto produce this wine from 100% Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13, a cross between Riesling and Pinot Bianco created by Professor Luigi Manzoni in 1930 at the Cerletti Enological Institute in Conegliano. The grape variety name 6.0.13 refers to the exact position in the original experimental vineyard where the best result was obtained: the 13th vine in the 6th row. Vines are trained using Guyot at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare on the Montello hills northwest of Treviso, with harvest taking place in mid-September. After pressing, the wine matures for at least six months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks before release at 8 to 10 months post-harvest. The Montello zone is characterized by ferruginous clay soils with a dark reddish-brown color, influenced by the Piave river to the north and favorable climatic exposure that suits this variety well.
