Wine Description
The Cannubi vineyard sits at the centre of the Barolo denomination in the village of Barolo, on soils of Helvetian and Tortonian origin with a strong presence of Sant’Agata marls. Paolo Scavino has vinified grapes from this site since 1985, drawing on old vines planted in 1946 across a plot of approximately 1.36 acres. The 2010 vintage in Piedmont delivered a long, cool growing season followed by a warm, dry autumn, producing wines of exceptional concentration, fine tannin structure and natural acidity. The wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo, fermented and aged in accordance with Barolo DOCG regulations, with ageing in wood before bottle release. At over a decade from the harvest, the 2010 shows the depth and elegance associated with the Cannubi terroir, with a fine-boned structure and considerable ageing potential.
