Custoza Superiore DOC “Ca’ del Magro” 2023 – MAGNUM

Ca’ del Magro is produced from a single vineyard of approximately 8 hectares located in the village of Custoza, at around 120 metres above sea level, on morainic soils of calcareous, clay, and gravelly composition with south-east exposure. The vines are over 55 years old and are trained using the Guyot system at a density of 5,000 vines per hectare. Individual soil parcels are vinified separately before blending, using cold maceration followed by fermentation and refinement in steel tanks. The wine is a blend of Garganega, Trebbiano Toscano, Cortese, and Incrocio Manzoni, and is bottled at 13% alcohol by volume. It received 90 points from Wine Spectator and 92 points from Falstaff for the 2023 vintage, and has ageing potential of up to ten years from harvest.
