Teroldego Veneto IGT 2021
Wine Description
Marion is a family-run estate in the Marcellise Valley, east of Verona, in the hamlet of San Martino Buon Albergo. The vineyards sit at around 100 metres above sea level on calcareous soils with little clay and scattered stone. Teroldego, an ancient Veronese variety historically known as Terodola, is one of the few of its kind grown seriously in the Verona hills. For this wine, a portion of the grapes is harvested and dried for approximately 30 to 40 days in well-ventilated sheds, while the remainder is harvested at full ripeness and pressed directly. After fermentation, the two lots are aged separately for 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels, then blended and bottled. The wine shows a deep, dark red colour with violet nuances.
