Wine Description
Paolo Scavino’s Langhe Nebbiolo is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes drawn from two single vineyards in the village of La Morra: Bricco Manescotto, with vines planted in 1960 and 1968, and Annunziata, planted in 1997. These vineyards are capable of producing Barolo, but the grapes are declassified and vinified separately to create an approachable, earlier-drinking Nebbiolo. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at low temperature for a gentle extraction, followed by a short maceration of around five days. Aging lasts approximately eight months in neutral oak and stainless steel to preserve the fruit and freshness of the grape. The estate was founded in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto and is currently run by Enrico Scavino together with his daughters Enrica and Elisa across 30 hectares in the Barolo zone.
