“Monte del Cuca” 2021
Wine Description
Monte del Cuca is made from 100% Garganega grown on volcanic hillside soils in Gambellara, with vines averaging around 60 years of age across approximately 5.5 hectares. Grapes are hand harvested in crates, destemmed, and fermented with wild indigenous yeasts on the skins without temperature control. After fermentation, the wine rests in concrete tanks and/or non-toasted Slavonian oak barrels on its own lees for at least one year. The 2021 is bottled unfiltered and then undergoes further ageing in bottle. It carries a deep amber-orange colour and the texture typical of extended skin contact, with a light tannic grip balanced by lively acidity and volcanic mineral character.
