About Forst
Forst is a brewery and beverage producer based in South Tyrol, Italy, primarily known for its beer production rather than wine. The example wine 'Ter Lignum' Triple Wood Cask Aged suggests the producer also engages in wine or spirits production in the South Tyrol region. South Tyrol is recognized for cool-climate varietals, and any wines from this producer would reflect the alpine growing conditions of the area.
Prices are for take away and shipping. The wine bar serves from its own list.

About Forst

The brewery
Forst is a brewery in Foresta, a village in the municipality of Lagundo, just outside Merano in South Tyrol. Its brand dates to 1857. The company was started by two Merano businessmen, Johann Wallnofer and Franz Tappeiner, and passed in 1863 to Josef Fuchs, who enlarged the plant.
In 1991 the company bought the Menabrea brewery in Biella, Piedmont, and it also has a bottling plant in Palermo. A beer garden stands next to the brewery in Foresta.
The beers
Forst makes a range of lagers and a few specials. The Premium is the everyday beer, and Kronen is a stronger lager. There is an unfiltered Felsenkeller, a dark double malt called Sixtus, a V.I.P. Pils and a Heller Bock, plus a beer named 1857 for the founding year.
It also brews alcohol free versions, including one with citrus and herbs. Seasonal brews appear at Easter and Christmas.
Today
Production runs to about 700,000 hectolitres a year, mostly sold in Italy. A sister company, Kaiserwasser, bottles mineral water and soft drinks. Forst has been a national partner of Cortina 2021 and runs an annual Christmas event at the brewery.
