About Biancavigna

History
BiancaVigna was founded in 2004 by the siblings Elena and Enrico Moschetta, who for the first time made and bottled sparkling wine from the family vineyards. Those vines had belonged to their grandfather Genesio since the early 1900s. Until then the grapes went to the local cooperative and later to other cellars in Valdobbiadene. Enrico studied at the wine school in Conegliano and qualified as a winemaker in 1984, and Elena brought a management background to the project. Her husband Luca Cuzziol helps with distribution in Italy and abroad.
The land and the vineyards
The family farms about 30 hectares in the DOCG and DOC zones of the Marca Trevigiana, between Conegliano, Pieve di Soligo and Valdobbiadene. They grow their own grapes and aim to put something of each place into the bottle. The cellar stands on the hills of Ogliano, at Conegliano, and opened with the 2015 harvest. It was built with recycled and eco friendly materials and holds the CasaClima Wine certification.
The wines
The focus is Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, made by the Charmat method. The range includes an organic Conegliano Valdobbiadene and three Rive bottlings from Ogliano, Soligo and Collalto, as well as an amphora aged wine and a Prosecco DOC line. Annual output is about 600,000 bottles.
Today
In 2008 the winery joined a rural development programme and installed new equipment to raise the quality of its sparkling wines. Twenty years after its start, the Moschetta siblings run it together, and the wines appear on restaurant lists in Italy and abroad.
