About Adalia
Adalia is the younger project of Marinella Camerani in Mezzane di Sotto, run alongside her Corte Sant'Alda estate in the same eastern valley of the Valpolicella. The vineyards carry Demeter certification, farming is biodynamic and organic, and the cellar keeps intervention low: spontaneous fermentations on indigenous yeasts, minimal temperature control and aging in large casks rather than small new oak. The wines, from the ripasso Balt to the Amarone Ruvaln, aim for drinkability and freshness in a valley where weight comes easily and balance does not.
Prices are for take away and shipping. The wine bar serves from its own list.

About Adalia

History
Adalia is a small winery in Mezzane di Sotto, in the Val di Mezzane east of Verona. It is linked to Corte Sant'Alda, the family estate that Marinella Camerani took over from her father in 1986. Adalia began as a separate project in 2009, and the wines are made by Marinella and Alda Camerani.
The land and the vineyards
The valley lies in the Veronese hills, and the vineyards are farmed biodynamically. Marinella moved the vines from pergola to guyot training when she took charge. A meeting with the biodynamic pioneer Nicolas Joly in 2002 pushed her further towards this way of farming, and she shifted her attention from the cellar to the vineyard. Sources put the area given to Adalia at about 5 hectares, part of roughly 20 hectares of vines across the family farms.
The wines
The estate grows Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave for white wines, with Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella for the reds. Appellations are Valpolicella and Soave. The range includes Laute Valpolicella, Balt Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore, Singan Soave, Amarone della Valpolicella and Recioto della Valpolicella. In the cellar the wines ferment with wild yeasts and age in stainless steel and concrete.
Today
Production is small. Visits and tastings are by appointment only, and the family also runs an agriturismo. The Adalia wines have been reviewed by the Falstaff guide.
