“Sacrisassi” Bianco Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC 2023
Wine Description
Sacrisassi Bianco is produced by Le Due Terre, a small estate founded in 1984 by Silvana Forte and Flavio Basilicata in Prepotto, in the eastern hills of Friuli. The wine is a blend of approximately 70% Friulano and 30% Ribolla Gialla, drawn from a single plot of around one hectare planted with vines at least 30 years old. Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates in early to mid September and undergo spontaneous fermentation with skin maceration of 10 to 15 days, depending on the vintage, in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for approximately 22 months in French oak tonneaux before bottling. No herbicides, pesticides, or added sulfur are used at any stage, and the wine is unfined with only light filtration before release. The result is a dry, structured white with a deep straw-yellow color and golden reflections, combining the aromatic breadth of Friulano with the natural acidity of Ribolla Gialla.
