Friulano Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC 2025

Miani is a small estate in Buttrio, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, run by Enzo Pontoni with very low yields and total annual production of fewer than ten thousand bottles across all labels. The vineyards sit on classic Friulian ponca, a stratification of marl and sandstone formed sixty to eighty million years ago, which gives wines their characteristic mineral backbone. The Friulano is made from 100% Friulano, an indigenous white variety historically associated with this part of northeastern Italy. Fermentation and ageing take place across a combination of stainless steel, concrete and barrique, with the mix of new and used oak kept intentionally restrained to preserve varietal character. The wine is bottled with natural cork and contains sulphites.
