Südtirol Gewürztraminer DOC “Concerto Grosso” 2025

The Concerto Grosso is a 100% Gewürztraminer produced by Elena Walch in Tramin, the village from which the grape takes its name, on the Strada del Vino in Alto Adige. The 2025 carries the additional geographical unit Tramin-Söll, a newly recognised UGA stretching at medium altitude along the western flank of the Mendola mountain, characterised by terraces, steep slopes, and calcareous soils with sand content. After harvest, the grapes undergo approximately six hours of skin maceration before gentle pressing; the must is statically clarified and then fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperature. The wine rests on its lees in steel for several months before bottling, retaining freshness and aromatic intensity. In the glass it shows bright golden yellow; the nose opens on candied orange, citrus, honey, cinnamon, and cloves, while the palate is full and creamy with a long, spicy finish.
