About Flli Bortolin
Fratelli Bortolin is a family-run winery based in Valdobbiadene, in the Veneto region of northeastern Italy. The estate is situated in the heart of the Prosecco Superiore DOCG zone, where it produces Prosecco di Valdobbiadene in various styles including Brut, Extra Dry, and the single-vineyard Rive bottlings. The winery draws on vineyards in the Cartizze subzone, one of the most prized growing areas for Glera in the region.
Prices are for take away and shipping. The wine bar serves from its own list.

About Flli Bortolin

History
The Bortolin family traces its winegrowing to 1542, when an old manuscript in the State Archive of Treviso records Zan Bortolin as a grower in S. Stefano di Valdobbiadene. The winery itself says it likes to think of that as the start of the story. Sparkling wine by the Martinotti method began in 1950, Brut production in 1955, and the Valdobbiadene Extra Dry called Ru followed in 1995. In 2013 the family launched ZAN, named after the ancestor.
The land and the vineyards
The cellar is in S. Stefano, in the heart of the Prosecco di Valdobbiadene area. The hills form an amphitheatre sheltered from northern winds by the nearby mountains, and the soils are the remains of ancient seas: clayey limestone, yellow and blue marls, and grey and blue sandstones. A trade profile puts the family's own vineyards at about 20 hectares, from Cartizze to S. Pietro di Feletto, with grapes also bought from trusted growers.
The wines
Two designations are at the centre of the range, Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore and the small Cartizze zone. There are Dry, Extra Dry and Brut versions, an Extra Brut called Cordevi, the Rù Millesimato, and ZAN, a Brut made without added sulphites. A Vigneto del Convento Extra Brut and a Brut made from disease resistant grapes sit alongside them, and the one still wine is the Conz Manzoni Bianco.
Today
It is still a family business, run by Valeriano Bortolin with his children Andrea, Claudia and Diego, according to the regional tourism site of Veneto. The old tasting room was renovated in 2000 and decorated by a local artist.
