About Braida
Braida is a family winery based in Rocchetta Tanaro in the Asti province of Piedmont, Italy, founded by Giacomo Bologna in the 1960s. The estate is widely credited with elevating Barbera d'Asti to international recognition, particularly through its single-vineyard bottlings such as Bricco dell'Uccellone and Bricco della Bigotta. Today the winery is run by Giacomo's children, Raffaella and Giuseppe Bologna, and continues to focus on Barbera alongside other indigenous Piedmontese varieties.
Prices are for take away and shipping. The wine bar serves from its own list.

About Braida

History
Braida is the house of Giacomo Bologna, at Rocchetta Tanaro, a few kilometres from Asti. The winery dates its start to 1961. Giacomo's father Giuseppe ran a bar that became Trattoria Braida in 1958, and Giacomo took the name and a small Barbera vineyard into winemaking. Over the next decades he worked to raise the standing of Barbera, a grape then treated as an everyday wine.
The land and the vineyards
The estate is based in Rocchetta Tanaro, in the Monferrato. After Giacomo's death the family bought further vineyards between Monferrato and Langa, and added a second site, a wine resort and white wines under the Serra dei Fiori name.
The wines
Barbera is the heart of the range. Bricco dell'Uccellone, aged in French barriques, had its first vintage in 1982 and was presented at Vinitaly in 1984. Bricco della Bigotta followed in 1985 and Ai Suma in 1990. Grignolino, Moscato d'Asti and Brachetto d'Acqui sit alongside them, and in September 2025 the house announced its first white from Timorasso.
Today
Giacomo died in December 1990. His wife Anna and their children Raffaella and Giuseppe carried on, and the fourth generation is now involved. In 2024 the brand received the Italian recognition Marchio Storico di Interesse Nazionale.
