Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2024
Wine Description
Pieve Santa Restituta is a 40-hectare estate in the southwest of Montalcino, acquired by the Gaja family in 1994 and planted exclusively to Sangiovese on clay-calcareous soils with galestro. The 2024 Rosso di Montalcino is the first release of this appellation from the estate, which until now focused solely on Brunello di Montalcino. The wine is produced from 100% Sangiovese and matured for twelve months, split equally between oak and concrete tanks. It shows a fresh, approachable character with red fruit clarity and a firm but fine tannic structure typical of the Montalcino terroir. The elevation and ventilation of the estate site slow ripening and preserve natural acidity, keeping the wine lively and well-defined.
