Gattinara DOCG “Vigna Molsino” 2022

Vigna Molsino is a south-facing natural amphitheater above Gattinara at roughly 400 metres elevation, with soils dominated by volcanic porphyry. Vines planted in 1992 produce a single-vineyard Nebbiolo that is among the most powerful and structured expressions of the appellation. The 2022 was fermented in stainless steel with extended maceration and is aged in large oak botti for several years before bottling. The Molsino site consistently yields a wine with greater concentration and depth compared to the estate’s other holdings, with dark fruit, spice and firm tannins that require substantial cellaring. Roberto Conterno, who acquired the Nervi estate in 2018, applies the same exacting standards used at Giacomo Conterno in Serralunga d’Alba.
