“Batàr” Toscana IGT 2023

Batàr is a white blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco grown on the high-elevation slopes of Ruffoli, Greve in Chianti, between 350 and 600 metres above sea level, on galestro soils with clay and schist components. The Pinot Bianco is planted on cooler north-facing slopes, which contribute the wine’s textural richness and volume, while the Chardonnay grows on warmer exposures that add aromatic complexity. Vinification follows a micro-vinification regime with fermentation and extended ageing on lees in French barriques, with minimal new oak used in recent years to preserve freshness and site character. Batàr 2023 shows a straw yellow colour with golden reflections. The wine is certified organic and biodynamic, and no animal products are used in its production.
