About Feudi Salentini

History
Feudi Salentini is a company based in Leporano, in the province of Taranto, in the south of Puglia. It is run by the Varvaglione family, which retailers describe as now in its third generation, with Cosimo and Maria Teresa Varvaglione leading it. The company says its roots and traditions come first and that it combines them with new technology. No founding date is given on its site.
The land and the vineyards
The vineyards are in Salento, where the soil is red and fertile and small stone walls and old olive trees mark the fields. The company works with the native grapes of Puglia: Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Malvasia Bianca, Aglianico and Verdeca.
The wines
The best known wines are Primitivo di Manduria, including Sassirossi and Re Sale, the Negroamaro del Salento 125, and a Verdeca called Cala. There is also a Malvasia, an organic white, and a pink Negroamaro with a light sparkle. The range is grouped in collections called Luxury, Lounge Bar, Classica, Terra and Organic.
Today
The wines have won medals at Berlin Wine Trophy, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Mundus Vini and AWC Vienna, and two Primitivo di Manduria received scores from James Suckling. The company published a sustainability report in 2025.
