“Le Sughere di Frassinello” Maremma Toscana DOC 2022 – MAGNUM

Le Sughere di Frassinello is the second label of the Rocca di Frassinello estate, situated in the Maremma Toscana area of Tuscany, between Bolgheri to the north and the Morellino di Scansano zone to the south. The wine is a blend of approximately 50% Sangioveto with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 12 months in French oak barrels with around 50% new oak. The estate is a joint venture between Castellare di Castellina and Domaines Barons de Rothschild-Lafite, combining Tuscan and Bordeaux winemaking approaches. The wine presents a deep ruby colour with a broad bouquet of red fruits and earthy, herbal undertones. On the palate it offers good structure, with soft and round tannins and a long, well-integrated finish. The 2008 vintage and the 2009 vintage were each listed among Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines.
