Nebbiolo “Arione” 2023

The Nebbiolo d’Alba Arione comes from a parcel of the Arione vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba that falls just outside the Barolo DOCG boundary, requiring the wine to be classified as Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC. Roberto Conterno acquired the Arione site in 2015, and the vines in this section were replanted after the estate took ownership. The vineyard sits on calcareous, compact clay soils with a southern exposure at altitude in the Serralunga d’Alba commune. The 2023 was fermented in large oak vats, followed by extended ageing in large oak casks in the same manner as the estate’s Barolo wines. The wine shows notable structure, tension, and mineral depth consistent with the character of this specific site and the traditional winemaking approach of the estate.
