Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2021 – MAGNUM
Wine Description
The Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is made from 100% Montepulciano grapes drawn from eight of Masciarelli’s top vineyard parcels, ranging in altitude from roughly 150 to 365 metres above sea level on calcareous clay and limestone soils. It is classified as a Riserva, meaning it undergoes extended aging, typically in French barriques, before release. The wine is named after Marina Cvetic, wife of the late founder Gianni Masciarelli, who together transformed the estate into one of Abruzzo’s most respected producers. Masciarelli owns vineyards across all four provinces of Abruzzo, and the parcels selected for this wine are blended to draw on a range of altitudes and soil types. The result is a deeply colored, concentrated red with dense fruit character, firm but well-integrated tannins, and the structure to age for ten or more years from a good vintage. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel before the wine is transferred to French oak barriques for up to 18 months of aging prior to bottling.
