1. Etna Rosso Doc “Contrada Pietrarizzo” – Tornatore
Our adventure begins on the volcanic slopes of Sicily with a wine as distinctive as the land that nurtures it. Tornatore’s Etna Rosso is a profound expression of Etna’s unique terroir, with the signature minerality of volcanic sand soils and the elegance imbued from oak ageing. Every sip delivers an aromatic bouquet of small red fruits, cocoa, and withered flowers, entwined with the subtle spice. An illustrious ruby red, it charms not only your palate but your eyes too.
2. Barolo Docg “Bricco Ambrogio” – Paolo Scavino
From Sicily, we voyage north to the hallowed lands of Piedmont. Paolo Scavino’s Barolo “Bricco Ambrogio” is an ode to Nebbiolo’s grandeur. Grown on limestone and Sant’Agata fossil marl soils, this wine offers a symphony of dense floral notes, ripe red berries and cherries, completing the sensory experience with a pale ruby color and a lasting finish.
3. Brunello di Montalcino Docg – Casanova di Neri
Next, we journey to the sun-drenched vineyards of Tuscany, where the iconic Brunello di Montalcino awaits us. Created by Casanova di Neri, this wine is an epitome of elegance and finesse. With vibrant flavors of cherry, strawberry, currant, and a hint of white pepper, this bright ruby wine lingers on your palate and memory.
4. “Habemus – Etichetta Bianca” Lazio Igt – San Giovenale
Our fourth wine hails from Lazio, the region surrounding the eternal city, Rome. San Giovenale’s Habemus – Etichetta Bianca is a harmonious blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignano, and Tempranillo. The complex dance of wild berry jam, sweet spices, red flowers, graphite, pepper, and licorice creates a fascinating tasting experience, represented in its rich, dark ruby color.
5. Amarone della Valpolicella Docg – Carlo Ferragù
Finally, we conclude our voyage in the Veneto region with the prestigious Amarone della Valpolicella by Carlo Ferragù. Each bottle of this exquisite Amarone is a labor of love and time, aged for 48 months in French and American oak barrels. It offers a powerful palate of deep fruit notes, with spicy overtones of vanilla and black pepper, dressed in a very intense ruby red hue.
Our Super Reds of Italy wine flight is available at any time of the day. Each tasting consists of five 0.7 cl glasses served simultaneously to fully immerse you in the Italian red wine journey.
