Le vin est class\u00e9 Toscana IGT plut\u00f4t que Chianti Classico car Montevertine a quitt\u00e9 le consorzio en 1981, refusant d'incorporer des c\u00e9pages blancs dans le vin comme le demandaient alors les r\u00e8glements. Le 2019 est \u00e9labor\u00e9 principalement \u00e0 partir de Sangiovese (environ 90 %), avec de petites additions de Canaiolo et de Colorino, tous issus de vieilles vignes cultiv\u00e9es en agriculture biologique, plant\u00e9es entre 1968 et 1999. La fermentation a lieu en cuves b\u00e9ton pendant environ 25 jours, suivie d'un \u00e9levage en grands f\u00fbts de ch\u00eane de Slavonie pendant 18 mois, puis en petites barriques de ch\u00eane fran\u00e7ais Allier pendant 6 mois suppl\u00e9mentaires. Le mill\u00e9sime 2019 se montre d'abord discret, avec une structure ferme et des tanins larges qui indiquent qu'il b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiera de plusieurs ann\u00e9es de cave suppl\u00e9mentaires avant d'atteindre son apog\u00e9e. Il n'est produit que dans les mill\u00e9simes que le domaine juge exceptionnels.\n\nMontevertine est un petit domaine situ\u00e9 \u00e0 Radda in Chianti, au c\u0153ur de la zone Chianti Classico en Toscane, en Italie. Fond\u00e9 par Sergio Manetti en 1967, le domaine est connu pour produire des vins \u00e0 base de Sangiovese en dehors de la d\u00e9nomination Chianti Classico DOCG, notamment son vin phare Le Pergole Torte, l'un des premiers vins 100 % Sangiovese de la r\u00e9gion. Le domaine est actuellement g\u00e9r\u00e9 par Martino Manetti et est largement consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une r\u00e9f\u00e9rence pour les vins toscans de style
