Der Weinberg wurde 1968 angelegt und liegt auf etwa 425 Metern \u00fcber dem Meeresspiegel. Das Gut trat 1981 aus dem Chianti Classico Consorzio aus und entschied sich, ausschlie\u00dflich mit Sangiovese zu arbeiten, anstatt den damals vorgeschriebenen Verschnittregeln zu folgen, was zur Einstufung als Toscana IGT f\u00fchrte. Die Weinbereitung dieser \u00c4ra umfasste eine verl\u00e4ngerte Maischestandzeit von bis zu einem Monat, gefolgt von einer Reife in gro\u00dfen slawonischen Eichenbotti und anschlie\u00dfend in kleineren franz\u00f6sischen Barriques, insgesamt \u00fcber einen Zeitraum von etwa zwei Jahren. Der Jahrgang 1995 in der Toskana galt als gut, wenn auch nicht au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlich, und brachte Weine mit fester Struktur und klassischem Sortentypus hervor. Mit fast drei Jahrzehnten Flaschenreife ist der 1995er Le Pergole Torte voraussichtlich vollst\u00e4ndig ausgereift und zeigt die terti\u00e4re Komplexit\u00e4t alter Sangiovese-Weine: Leder, Erde, getrocknete Fr\u00fcchte und Tabak. Der Wein wird nur in ausgew\u00e4hlten Jahrg\u00e4ngen erzeugt und gilt als eines der fr\u00fchesten Beispiele der Super-Toskana-Bewegung.\n\nMontevertine ist ein kleines Gut in Radda in Chianti, im Herzen der Chianti Classico-Zone der Toskana. Das 1967 von Sergio Manetti gegr\u00fcndete Weingut ist f\u00fcr seine Sangiovese-Weine bekannt, die au\u00dferhalb der Chianti Classico DOCG-Denomination erzeugt werden, allen voran Le Pergole Torte, einer der ersten 100-prozentigen Sangiovese-Weine der Region.
