Der Wein wurde erstmals 1977 erzeugt und war der erste reine Sangiovese, der im Gebiet von Radda ausgebaut wurde. Der Jahrgang 2013 stammt zu 100 % aus Sangiovese der \u00e4ltesten Weinbergparzellen des Guts. Alkoholische G\u00e4rung und malolaktische G\u00e4rung finden beide in Betonbeh\u00e4ltern statt, gefolgt von zw\u00f6lf Monaten Reife in franz\u00f6sischen Allier-Barriques und weiteren zw\u00f6lf Monaten in gr\u00f6\u00dferen F\u00e4ssern aus slawonischer Eiche. Montevertine trat 1982 aus dem Chianti-Classico-Konsortium aus, weshalb der Wein die Bezeichnung Toscana IGT tr\u00e4gt und nicht Chianti Classico DOCG. Der Jahrgang 2013 gilt in der Toskana als starkes Jahr mit Weinen, die sich durch ausgepr\u00e4gte Frische, feste Struktur und gutes Reifepotenzial auszeichnen.\n\nMontevertine ist ein kleines Weingut in Radda in Chianti, im Herzen der Chianti-Classico-Zone der Toskana, Italien. Das Gut wurde 1967 von Sergio Manetti gegr\u00fcndet und ist bekannt f\u00fcr Sangiovese-basierte Weine au\u00dferhalb der Chianti Classico DOCG-Denomination, allen voran Le Pergole Torte, einer der ersten 100%igen Sangiovese-Weine der Region.
