Die Trauben werden auf Bambusgestellen mehrere Monate lang getrocknet, das sogenannte Appassimento-Verfahren, das Zucker, Aromen und Struktur vor der G\u00e4rung konzentriert. Der Wein reift in gro\u00dfen Beh\u00e4ltern aus slawonischer Eiche, was ihm Tiefe und Komplexit\u00e4t ohne schweres Holzgepr\u00e4ge verleiht. Der Jahrgang 2000 zeigt ein opakes Rubinrot mit leuchtenden R\u00e4ndern, was die f\u00fcr diesen Stil typische Dichte widerspiegelt. Nach \u00fcber zwei Jahrzehnten Reife haben sich die prim\u00e4ren Trockenfruchtnoten mit terti\u00e4ren Aromen von Kaffee, Tabak und Gew\u00fcrzen verbunden. Der Wein ist trocken und vollmundig, mit der festen, aber weich gewordenen Tanninstruktur und dem nat\u00fcrlich hohen Alkohol, die man von einem gereiften Amarone Classico erwartet.\n\nMasi verdankt seinen Namen dem Vaio dei Masi, dem kleinen Tal in der Valpolicella Classica, das die Familie Boscaini Ende des achtzehnten Jahrhunderts erwarb, und wird nach wie vor nach sieben Generationen von ihr gef\u00fchrt. Das Haus hat sich einen Namen mit dem Appassimento gemacht, dem winterlichen Trocknen der Trauben f\u00fcr Amarone und Recioto, das seine Technikergruppe seit Jahrzehnten erforscht und verfeinert, sowie mit der Wiederentdeckung alter veronischer Rebsorten wie der Oseleta. Neben dem weit exportierten Costasera f\u00fcllt das Weingut zwei historische Cru-Amarones ab, Campolongo di Torbe und Mazzano, und betreut die Weinberge des Weinguts Serego Alighieri, dem Sitz der
