Der Wein ist als Toscana IGT klassifiziert und nicht als Chianti Classico, weil Montevertine 1981 aus dem Konsortium austrat und sich weigerte, Wei\u00dfweintrauben einzusetzen, wie es die damaligen Vorschriften verlangten. Der 2019er besteht \u00fcberwiegend aus Sangiovese (rund 90 %), mit kleinen Anteilen Canaiolo und Colorino, alle aus biologisch bewirtschafteten alten Reben, gepflanzt zwischen 1968 und 1999. Die G\u00e4rung findet in Betonbeh\u00e4ltern f\u00fcr etwa 25 Tage statt, gefolgt von 18 Monaten Ausbau in gro\u00dfen slawonischen Eichenholzf\u00e4ssern und weiteren 6 Monaten in kleinen franz\u00f6sischen F\u00e4ssern aus Allier-Eiche. Der 2019er zeigt anf\u00e4ngliche Verschlossenheit, mit fester Struktur und breiten Tanninen, die darauf hinweisen, dass er noch einige Jahre Kellerreife ben\u00f6tigt, bevor er seinen H\u00f6hepunkt erreicht. Er wird nur in Jahrg\u00e4ngen produziert, die das Gut als herausragend einstuft.\n\nMontevertine ist ein kleines Gut in Radda in Chianti im Herzen der Chianti-Classico-Zone der Toskana. Es wurde 1967 von Sergio Manetti gegr\u00fcndet und ist f\u00fcr Sangiovese-basierte Weine au\u00dferhalb der Chianti-Classico-DOCG bekannt, vor allem f\u00fcr seinen Leitwein Le Pergole Torte, einen der ersten 100-prozentigen Sangiovese-Weine der Region.
