Der Wein wird aus Marsanne und Roussanne gekeltert, zwei wei\u00dfen Sorten aus dem n\u00f6rdlichen Rh\u00f4netal, die auf buschtrainierten, s\u00fcd\u00f6stlich ausgerichteten Rebst\u00f6cken auf rund 380 Metern H\u00f6he auf strukturierten Tonb\u00f6den wachsen. Nach der G\u00e4rung reift der Wein 16 Monate in franz\u00f6sischen Eichenholz-Barriques, was zu seiner tiefen Goldfarbe und texturellen F\u00fclle beitr\u00e4gt. Der Jahrgang 2022 zeigt ein reiches aromatisches Profil aus Orangenzeste, Honig und ger\u00f6stetem Holz mit einem vollen, energetischen Gaumen. Struktur und Holzintegration lassen weitere Entwicklung in der Flasche \u00fcber mehrere Jahre zu. San Giovenale verzichtet im Weinberg auf synthetische Chemikalien und setzt auf Spontang\u00e4rung mit einheimischen Hefen.\n\nSan Giovenale ist ein kleines Weingut im Gebiet der Tuscia im n\u00f6rdlichen Latium nahe Blera, gegr\u00fcndet von Henrik Ottosson. Der Betrieb ist f\u00fcr Cuv\u00e9es aus Bordeaux-Sorten bekannt, insbesondere aus Cabernet Franc, die auf Vulkanb\u00f6den wachsen.
