Mit 17 % Alkohol ist Gio\u00e9 ein kraftvoller, vollmundiger Wein mit einem dichten Kern aus Trockenfr\u00fcchten, der durch erdige Komplexit\u00e4t und feine Tannine ausbalanciert wird.\n\nSanta Sofia keltert seit 1811 in Pedemonte di San Pietro in Cariano, in Kellern, die unter und um eine Palladio-Villa aus dem Jahr 1565, erbaut f\u00fcr Marcantonio Serego, angelegt wurden. Die Familie Begnoni kaufte das Anwesen 1967 und f\u00fchrt es noch heute, mit 69 Hektar in drei Gebieten: Montegradella in der Valpolicella Classica, Briago in der Valpantena und Pozzolengo am Gardasee, f\u00fcr eine Produktion von etwa einer halben Million Flaschen.
