Der Wein ist eine Cuv\u00e9e aus Grenache (40 %), Syrah (30 %), Carignan (20 %) und Tempranillo (10 %), die als Buschrebenerziehung auf Tonb\u00f6den auf rund 380 Metern \u00fcber dem Meeresspiegel w\u00e4chst. Die Ertr\u00e4ge sind mit rund 12 Doppelzentnern pro Hektar \u00e4u\u00dferst gering, und die Trauben werden in der zweiten Septemberh\u00e4lfte von Hand unter zertifiziert biologischer Bewirtschaftung gelesen. Die G\u00e4rung findet in Edelstahltanks auf indigenen Hefen statt, danach reift der Wein 20 Monate in neuen franz\u00f6sischen Barriques. Das Ergebnis ist ein strukturierter, konzentrierter Rotwein mit dunkler, nahezu undurchdringlicher Rubinfarbe, der den Reichtum s\u00fcdlicher Rh\u00f4ne-Sorten mit der aromatischen Komplexit\u00e4t des langen Holzausbaus verbindet. Der Jahrgang 2018 stammt aus Reben von rund 8 Jahren, die mit einer Dichte von 13.000 Reben pro Hektar und s\u00fcd\u00f6stlicher Ausrichtung gepflanzt wurden.\n\nSan Giovenale ist ein kleines Gut im Tuscia-Gebiet des n\u00f6rdlichen Latiums nahe Blera, gegr\u00fcndet von Henrik Ottosson. Das Weingut ist bekannt f\u00fcr Cuv\u00e9es aus Bordeaux-Sorten, insbesondere auf Cabernet-Franc-Basis, die auf Vulkanb\u00f6den wachsen. Es hat sich einen Namen damit gemacht, einen ernsthaften, terroirorientierten Ansatz bei der Rotweinproduktion in einer Region zu verfolgen, die traditionell nicht mit solchen Sorten in Verbindung
